Leading Japanese Food Company is seeking a Quality Assurance Officer.



Main responsibilities


·         Maintain up-to-date specifications and QA information on all products and suppliers; undertake the necessary record-keeping and communications with           suppliers (reviews of the product specifications, HACCP plans, supplier questionnaires, certificates of analysis, suppliers’ third party certificates, etc.)

·         Maintain and update information of product database based on newly acquired information from our suppliers and ensure that the product specifications are kept up to date

·         Assist with requests from trade customers and Sales Team (technical information requests, customer questionnaires completion, certificates of analysis requests, etc.)

·         Respond to customer queries and complaints and reports of internally detected problems relating to product quality and compliance, undertake necessary communications, investigations and record-keeping

·         Verify validity of information on product labels based on Food Information Regulation criteria in conjunction with the Product Development Team

·         Actively participate in monthly HACCP meetings, analyse potential product risks and keep up to date with emerging trends in fields of food safety and regulatory compliance

·         Assist in maintaining relevant third party certifications (Organic, Demeter, Vegan, Kosher)



Who we are looking for


·         Fluent written & spoken English

·         Good scientific background / understanding of food science

·         Good working knowledge of Microsoft Access, Excel and Word and other database applications

·         Experience in the food industry, ideally in supplier specification and administration

·         Good understanding and training in HACCP principles

·         Experience with QA audits, BRC/IFS or FSSC22000 certification procedures

·         Working knowledge of EU / UK Food Regulations

·         Self-motivating team player, with good communication skills

Fluent English for Business situations
