Japanese company is looking for a purchasing staff


[JOB TITLE]                Purchasing Staff

[SALARY]                   $20,000 per annum

[WORKING HOUS]     9am to 5pm

[LANGUAGES]           Japanses, English and other European language(s)



·         ITEMS PUCHASED: Industrial machinery, parts and materials




Working Hours are 9am to 5pm, occasionally you will be required to work overtime and attend business meetings in UK and overseas. Thus, certain flexibility will be required.

Basic Salary is approximately £20,000 per annum.  Benefits including private health insurance, private gym membership and an annual bonus will be provided. Annual bonus shall be dependent upon your merit and efficiency, the economic performance of the Company and its Group and any other factors which the Company may wish to take into consideration, at the sole discretion of the Company.


1) Enquiry;

·         Processing Requests For Quotation (RFQ)

·         Sourcing suppliers and issuing RFQs

·         Collecting/expediting supplier’s quotations

·         Evaluating and clarifying supplier’s quotations

·         Negotiating with suppliers for best offer conditions

2) Order;

·         Processing Purchase Orders (PO)

·         Placing orders to suppliers

·         Post-order monitoring and expediting of suppliers, including attending meetings as necessary

·         Coordinating shipments

·         Troubleshooting and claims handling

3) Payment & Invoicing;

·         Obtaining shipping and payment documents from suppliers

·         Processing IEL invoices for payment

·         Arranging necessary documentation for export/import of goods

·         Confirmation of payment status

4) Related duties;

·         Researching supplier’s credit status

·         Conducting vendor surveys

·         Market research

·         Collection of purchasing information

·         Services for tenders

·         Preparations for sales and purchase



·         General Secretarial duties (hotel and travel arrangements, typing, photocopying, appointment scheduling etc.,) if requested by the senior management.

·         Any other duties directed by the senior management from time to time



·         Excellent English communication skills (mandatory)

·         Daily conversation skill in Japanese (preferred)

·         Additional European language(s) (mandatory)

·         Previous procurement experience (preferred)

·         Technical oriented background or engineering knowledge (preferred)

·         Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point (essential)
