About the Opportunity
A major banking transformation programme is seeking an experienced Senior Banking Migration Lead to drive a large-scale migration involving core banking systems, General Ledger platforms, data warehouses, and associated applications.
This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for transforming migration strategy into an integrated and executable programme plan across systems, data, interfaces, testing, environments, and phased releases. The successful candidate will work closely with senior stakeholders and programme leadership to ensure migration readiness, delivery control, and successful execution.
Key Responsibilities
Own and manage the integrated migration roadmap, milestones, governance framework, and critical path across a multi-phase transformation programme.
Coordinate migration planning across multiple workstreams, including systems, environments, interfaces, testing, data, and releases.
Lead programme-level oversight of migration activities covering:
Core Banking platforms
General Ledger (GL)
Sub-Ledger systems
Enterprise Data Warehouse environments
Drive data mapping, transformation, reconciliation, quality assurance, and end-to-end data integrity activities.
Coordinate migration rehearsals, testing, cutover planning, rollback strategies, readiness reviews, and Go/No-Go assessments.
Manage programme risks, issues, dependencies, and governance controls.
Facilitate cross-functional workshops and executive-level stakeholder discussions.
Provide clear reporting and delivery assurance to senior programme leadership.
Required Experience
Migration Leadership
Proven experience leading large-scale, multi-system migration programmes.
Hands-on experience covering the full migration lifecycle, including:
Mobilisation
Planning
Data Migration
Testing
Rehearsals
Cutover
Go-Live
Banking & Financial Systems
Strong experience across:
Core Banking platforms
General Ledger systems
Sub-Ledger environments
Financial Data Migration
Programme Management
Ability to assess complex delivery landscapes, identify risks and dependencies, and drive execution.
Strong stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation skills.
Excellent executive communication capabilities.
Fluent English communication skills.
Experience Level
15+ years of experience in banking technology transformation, migration programmes, or large-scale systems integration projects.
Preferred Experience
Oracle E-Business Suite (Oracle EBS), particularly Oracle EBS General Ledger.
Wholesale Banking or Corporate Banking transformation programmes.
UK or EMEA banking transformation experience.
