Job Purpose:
Supports Japanese clients with guidance across the employee lifecycle, from recruitment through to engagement, retention and exits.
 
Main Responsibilities:
HR Consultant
• Identifies client problems in HR and employment and proposes solutions
• Helps employment solicitors to understand Japanese culture and practices so that they are able to provide advice in line with their unique situation
• Translates employment solicitors’ advice from English to Japanese for Japanese clients, follows them up when necessary
• Helps clients comply with the latest UK legislation and practice by assisting in the development, revision and implementation of HR related policies and other documents
• Supports for clients' HR operations, including payroll, recruitment, and absence management
• Assists Japanese Services with marketing activities, such as translating newsletters and organising legal seminars & webinars
• Works with the accounting team to ensure all invoices are prepared and sent timely and correctly

HR Coordinator
• Oversees the day-to-day HR management such as recruitment, onboarding, absence management, etc
 
Person Specification
-English: Business level, Japanese: Business level
-At least 3 year HR experience in Japan and/or in the UK. Particularly, employee relations and performance & absence management.
-Knowledge UK or Japanese employment (labour) law 
-Skills and abilities Strong organisational and multi-tasking abilities
-High computer literacy
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills
