A growing global logistics company is looking for an experienced Logistics Operations Manager to lead day‑to‑day operations at its Rotterdam site.
Location: Rotterdam, Netherlands
Salary: Up to €75,000 gross per year, including all benefits such as holiday allowance and 13th‑month pay (depending on experience and skills).
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse & Logistics Operations
Manage end‑to‑end warehouse operations, including inbound, storage, picking, packing, and outbound processes
Act as a playing manager with direct involvement in daily operational activities
Provide clear instructions to on‑site staff and monitor workflow, productivity, quality, and safety standards
Ensure compliance with SOPs, drive continuous improvements, and deliver staff training
Take first response and corrective action in cases of mis‑shipments, inventory discrepancies, and delivery delays
Adjust staffing levels and provide hands‑on support during peak operational periods
Customer Service & Stakeholder Coordination
Respond to customer inquiries regarding shipment status, delays, and operational issues
Serve as the primary point of contact for complaints and irregular cases, coordinating internally to resolve issues
Identify customer service challenges and translate them into operational improvements
Prepare explanations and operational reports for customers as required
Work closely with Head Office and internal teams including Customer Service, IT, and Sales
Requirements
Practical experience in logistics operations
Experience as an Operations Manager or Supervisor
Ability to manage both warehouse operations and customer‑facing responsibilities
Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
Strong business communication skills in Dutch and English
Experience in Contract Logistics is a must
Experience in international logistics and freight forwarding
Willingness and ambition to grow into a branch manager role in the future
