Key Responsibilities
Client Liaison & Strategic Counsel
Serve as the primary point of contact for key Japanese clients in private and public sectors, offering strategic advice on communications, media relations, crisis communications, and reputation management.
Lead the development and execution of comprehensive communications plans aligned with client objectives.
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, becoming a valued partner and trusted advisor.
Team Management & Mentorship
Provide clear direction, feedback, and development opportunities to junior staff.
Liaise with senior advisors andother staff members to seek their expertise where needed.
Media & Stakeholder Engagement
Guide media strategy and oversee high-impact media relations efforts with support from senior leadership team
Build on, establish and leverage deep media contacts to secure quality coverage in top-tier outlets both in Japanese and English
Business Development & Growth
Working with the wider team, identify and pursue new business opportunities with existing and prospective clients.
Contribute and Lead on the preparation and presentation of proposals and pitches.
Attend external networking events, particularly Japanese-related events,conferences and networking.
Contribute to the agency’s growth through thought leadership and networking especially in Japanese business community in the UK and Europe.

Ensure the delivery of exceptional client service within the scope of work and timeline.
Required Skills & Experience
5+ years of experience in public relations, corporate communications, or a related field
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills in Japanese and English.
Preferable Skills & Experience
Ability to develop strong media relations skills and establish a network of journalists
Demonstrate potential for business development and expanding client accounts
