Position: Finance Manager
Salary: GBP 50K-60K
Location: London (Hybrid working)
Key Responsibilities
Financial Oversight & Compliance
Supervise daily financial operations and ensure compliance with internal policies and accounting standards
Prepare financial reports for external governmental stakeholders
Develop and maintain financial analysis tools to support strategic planning
Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
Support the Finance Director in coordinating the annual audit
Promote awareness of financial regulations and compliance across the organisation
Reporting & Financial Administration
Prepare quarterly financial statements and ad hoc reports for senior leadership and governance committees
Manage general ledger entries and ensure accurate revenue recognition
Oversee invoicing and periodic account closures (monthly, quarterly, annual)
Conduct balance sheet reconciliations, including bank accounts and daily sales
Liaise with external auditors and provide required documentation during audits
Monitor cash flow and foreign exchange movements
Review inventory reconciliations and year-end adjustments
Assist in updating internal control policies and procedures
Provide financial guidance to non-finance departments
Oversee tax administration in collaboration with external consultants
Line manage two finance team members
Budgeting & Procurement
Supervise procurement processes and manage purchase order systems
Prepare annual budgets and forecasts
Collaborate with internal budget holders to ensure financial alignment
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Essential
Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, or CIMA)
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
Minimum 5 years’ experience in financial operations
Strong knowledge of UK GAAP
Advanced Excel skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
Experience in team management
Proven ability to implement financial systems and procedures
Experience working in cross-cultural environments
High attention to detail

Desirable
Knowledge of UK tax regulations
Experience with ERP systems such as Xero
Japanese language skills (advantageous for reporting)
Experience working with Japanese organisations or government-funded entities
Audit experience

Hybrid working model combining office-based and remote work, depending on business needs
Some duties may be performed in public-facing areas
Office located in central London; occasional off-site work may be required
Standard working hours: 7 hours per day, 5 days per week, with core hours from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM
