With Japan’s insurance market exceeding ¥45 trillion, the country represents a highly strategic region for our organisation. Our AI‑driven technology has demonstrated strong performance on Japanese documents, and we have built solid relationships with leading insurers in the market. As we expand our presence in Japan, we are looking for a Technical Project Manager to help drive successful customer deployments and long‑term adoption.

Reporting to the Japan Country Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring smooth implementation and delivery of our solutions for customers across Japan.

Once a customer contract has been secured, you will take ownership of the full implementation cycle—from requirements gathering through successful go‑live—working closely with insurers to maximise the value of our product suite and to support adoption across their organisation.

As an early member of the Japan team, this role offers a unique opportunity to help shape a growing business. You will collaborate closely with both the local leadership and global teams, gaining the chance to influence strategy and contribute to transforming the insurance industry with cutting‑edge AI technology.


What You Will Do

  • Lead end‑to‑end project delivery for Japanese customers, including proofs of concept (PoCs) and full‑scale production deployments.
  • Define, align, and communicate project milestones; create and maintain realistic, risk‑aware delivery plans.
  • Maintain team velocity and quality through proactive progress tracking, early risk identification, structured root‑cause analysis, and solution design.
  • Work with customers to demonstrate the value of the technology in PoCs and ensure successful conversion to production.
  • Build and maintain strong satisfaction at all customer levels, from C‑suite executives to daily product users.
  • Act as an escalation point for service‑related issues and drive overall customer success.

What We’re Looking For

Must‑Haves

  • Native‑level proficiency in Japanese; advanced business‑level English.
  • Proven experience delivering complex software projects in partnership with Software Engineering and Data Science teams.
  • Experience managing technical projects and software implementations for external customers.
  • Strong project management and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, from executives to operational teams.
  • Strong communication skills to bridge customer needs with internal technical constraints and priorities.
  • Self‑starter mindset with enthusiasm for learning new technologies and customer environments.

Nice‑to‑Haves

  • Familiarity with AI concepts (e.g., LLMs, NLP, OCR).
  • Knowledge of the insurance industry.
  • Experience in Business Analysis or Customer Success.
  • Experience working asynchronously or in remote‑first organisations.
