SUMMARY OF JOB PURPOSE 
They are on a mission to drive and expand their global business and become the most iconic premium lifestyle brand. As they are establishing a strong organization to expand our business in Europe, they require a Marketplace Specialist to proactively participate in this activity. This position is responsible for reaching new audiences and expanding their business online. 
They expect that the person will take their Marketplaces setup to the next level. (Focus: Expanding their online business by launching new marketplaces across Europe and optimizing our existing marketplaces setup.) 
 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
  • Launching new Marketplaces, for example Yoox, Farfetch, Spartoo. Take the lead as Project Manager and work together with all internal stakeholders to launch these new platforms. 
  • Improving current Zalando setup and growing existing sales. 
  • Expanding current markets in existing Marketplaces. For example, Switzerland and Eastern Europe. 
  • Improve Marketplaces order value and profitability. 
  • Improve product on-boarding process and technical setup Marketplaces. 
  • Responsible for the day-to-day sales and general performance of Marketplaces. 
  • Setup reporting and dashboard for proper tracking of our Marketplaces. 
  • Setup retention-program for Marketplaces. 
  • Improve collaboration with external on-boarding agency. (And optimize hours and costs spend). 
  • Create ideal setup in terms of Marketplaces feed-management and product data. Work towards one helicopter view across Marketplaces. 
  • Monitor errors and other Marketplaces specific issues that could impact the sales. 
  • Optimize Product Cycle on Marketplaces and provide proper feedback to the merchandising team in terms of product sell-through. Work together with Merchandise team to improve the assortment for Marketplaces. 
  • Work closely together with Digital Marketing to tell the brand story properly on Marketplaces. 
  • Create and maintain consistency in pricing and promotional setup across Marketplaces. 
  • Setup advertising strategy across Marketplaces. Boost the brand and reach new audiences without losing the eye on profitability. 
  • Adapt Marketplace strategy to overall digital strategy where we create the ideal setup between Marketplaces and E-commerce and strengthen both channels. 
 
<REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE> 
  • ​​​​​Minimum 5 years of experience in E-commerce Marketplace operations, 10+ years preferred. 
  • Experience with Zalando is required
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels of the organization, as well as with external stakeholders. 
  • Experience in retail industries such as fashion (apparel/footwear) and cosmetics is preferred. 
  • Proficient in English.
